The National Youth Workers Network Aotearoa is the umbrella Organisation for Youth Work in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We are committed to advocating that Youth Work should be recognised as a unique and professional practice and challenging Government to treasure and invest in this absolute necessary practice in supporting young people’s wellbeing and development.

When identifying Youth Work we support and advocate for paid and voluntary workers. We recognise that the Youth Work sector in Aotearoa New Zealand is one of the largest providers of highly, committed, mostly unpaid labour. The voluntary Youth Work Sector deserves to be viewed as a professional partner and should be supported by funding, planning and infrastructure.
