Aims and Objectives.
To build sustainable capacity and capability in the youth work sector by:

becoming a leading support and advocacy body for youth work – both paid and voluntary

ensuring we represent the diversity of youth work in Aotearoa New Zealand

promoting the place of youth work as a recognised and unique profession and an essential volunteer practice

offering support and a voice for both local/regional youth worker networks and national youth organisations

providing advocacy, information, advice, events and support services with youth workers

developing partnerships with government agencies, private enterprise, philanthropic entities and other stakeholders for the benefit of youth workers and the youth development sector

establishing a national Code of Ethics for youth work and accessible training opportunities for paid and voluntary youth workers

undertaking research, networking and development initiatives to further advance the development of youth work
