The National Youth Workers Network Aotearoa is the umbrella organisation for youth work in Aotearoa New Zealand.

NYWNA is committed to promoting youth work to be recognised as a unique and professional practice and encouraging all New Zealanders to treasure and invest in this absolute necessary practice in supporting young peoples’ well-being and development.

NYWNA believes that both voluntary and paid youth workers as essential resources in every community. We recognise that the youth work sector in Aotearoa New Zealand is one of the largest providers of highly skilled and committed, mostly unpaid, labour. The voluntary youth work sector deserves to be viewed as a professional partner and needs be supported with funding, planning and infrastructure.
