COSPRO helps overweight and obese children to develop self-confidence, social skills, and physical fitness by supporting them to become involved in community-based social and physical activities. COSPRO is now a NZ Registered Charity! This is great news because it means that the NZ Government has recognised COSPRO as a legitimate (and legal!) non-profit Community Service. This will be of great benefit in promoting and developing the COSPRO Programme, and will increase the credibility of COSPRO among other established community and professional services. Most importantly, parents and caregivers of children with weight challenges who are considering the COSPRO Programme for their own child will be reassured by this significant endorsement.
