Code of Ethics - second edition ready to go...
National Youth Workers Network Aotearoa board members, led by Jane Zintl a lawyer and youth worker from Otautahi/Christchurch, have considered the submissions received on the first edition of the Code of Ethics and finalised the second edition for release in a few weeks.
Included with the new edition will be a shorter more accessible version for volunteers with the working title “Code of Ethics at a Glance” as much of the feedback suggested the original document was daunting for volunteers.
Also included are a series of youth work scenarios with references to the relevant clauses in the Code of Ethics.
While the second edition does not include radical changes, some small but important improvements have been made.
Examples of how organisations are implementing the Code of Ethics are provided in a companion document and all the files will be available on the NYWNA website for members and the public to download for free.
