Workshop Facilitators
We are looking for people who:
- Are trusted and respected by other youth workers in their area.
- Have knowledge and experience around their proposed subject.
- Are willing to work as part of a small team of peers to develop their subject area and be accountable for their performance.
- Are good communicators and able to teach in a participatory style
- Are good at creating a supportive learning environment for learners of different cultures and backgrounds.
- Are able to travel to deliver workshops
We are aiming to build a team of facilitators and resource people around each of the following workshops:
- Foundations for youthwork
- Community connections
- Reflective practitioner
- Bi-cultural youth work practice
- Leadership and management in youth organisations
- Crisis intervention
- Community development
- Group facilitation
We haven't included RAP on this list as it is accredited separately. Some resource people may not be able to facilitate a workshop, but would like to contribute to the development process and/or possibly be available to present short specialist slots within a workshop.
The process from here: At the August Forum we will complete the selection process, put people into small teams based on their subject area and get each team to begin work on developing their workshop.

How does it work?
Once your workshop is ready (and assessment materials have been pre-moderated), we will stay in touch and approach your team when a network or organisation requests your workshop. Between us we will work out who from your team will go and facilitate the workshop.
You will be paid for your time, travel and accommodation (where necessary) for each workshop.
We are co-owners of the material you develop. In other words if you stop working for TOHU, the workbooks are our property, but you can take the ideas and re-develop them for your own use.
Our goal is to involve each team of facilitators as a community of learning around their subject area who are constantly improving the content and presentation around it. Therefore we will:
- Rigorously evaluate each workshop that is run and encourage the team to look for ways to improve on it.
- Ask each facilitator to meet twice a year to reflect on and develop their material.

- Collect their work, check it and then send it in for assessment when it is ready.
